About Second Union

Introduction

Second Union Church is an interdenominational, English speaking congregation founded in 1964.  The church has established an active presence in the San Juan community, serving our Lord through programs and outreach ministry.  Our community is blessed with a vast diversity of cultural and denominational backgrounds, ages and traditions.

We celebrate Sunday worship with children, choirs and lay participation as a lively body of Christ.  Rooted in the Word of God, we seek to support and strengthen each other in our faith through prayer, Bible study and programs focused on the love and grace of Jesus Christ.

Second Union Church of San Juan has 26 different denominations represented within our membership.  To learn more about Second Union go to History.

What is a Union Church?  The Union churches are a loosely linked community of over 120 English speaking churches located in primarily non-English speaking locations around the world. In each locale, they serve the whole community while worshipping in English.

Our Pastor

It is with great enthusiasm that the congregation of Second Union Church has extended the call to ministry to the Reverend Robert V. Zoba.  After countless hours of dedicated service, initiated in November of 2002, the Pastoral Search Team recommended, the Reverend Robert V. Zoba, to serve as Pastor of Second Union Church.  The Council unanimously approved the nomination and the congregation overwhelmingly voted to extend the call to Ministry to Pastor Zoba.  We hope you’ll join us in welcoming Pastor Zoba to our community and church family on January 18, 2004.

Inspirational Words From Reverend Zoba

"I strongly believe that the best hope for a truly transformed society is the transformation of individual hearts and lives.  This must begin with a personal encounter with Jesus Christ whereby an individual receives the good news that “God so loved the world that He gave us His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him, shall not perish, but will have eternal life” (John 3:16).  It is the call of every Christian to be evangelistic."

"I am very passionate about the task of studying and presenting the Word of God in a manner that is faithful to the text, anointed by the Spirit, applicable to the congregation, and relevant to the era in which we live.  I am equally passionate about the people of the church, i.e. their needs, their care, their spiritual growth, and their sense of unity in the family of Christ.  I seek  to equip, enable, and encourage the saints to exercise their gifts and achieve maturity in Christ, individually and corporately."

"As the former pastor of the Union Christian Church of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, I feel most alive in international settings.  Indeed, I look upon my four years in Honduras as the most effective and exciting years of my entire ministry.  I was blessed by the diversity of theological perspectives, as well as the richness of a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic congregation."
